Vertical Band Saw Operator

Granco Clark is searching for a Vertical Band Saw Operator for its Belding facility to set up and operate vertical band saw to cut metal with accuracy. Ensure products meet precise specifications in accordance with specifications and per company standards by performing the following duties.

Shift: Days – Full Time
Supervisor Responsibilities: None

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate vertical band saw to cut metal with accuracy.
• Must be able to verify product quality using hand tools, gages, tapes, calipers and scales.
• Must be able to read and understand blueprints.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Prior forklift and Overhead crane experience.
• Must be willing to work overtime.

Education Requirements: 

High school diploma, G.E.D., Certificate; with trade school experience preferred.

Experience Requirements:

Prior experience using band-saw. Trade tools, equipment, materials, tape measure, methods and techniques used in safe band saw operation. Able to read and understand blueprints.

Skill Requirements:

Strong troubleshooting skills and think logically about solutions; mechanical skills to read blueprints and schematics. Knowledge of the properties and characteristics of metals used for cutting. Knowledge of safety precautions related to occupational hazards, procedures, and practices of the trade.

Physical Requirements:

Requires the ability to communicate. Requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. Must be able to work in tight spaces and elevated position,  bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, twisting. Requires the ability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 50 pounds Requires activities involving being around moving machinery. Operates overhead crane and use of forklift.
