Introducing the Granco Clark Flex2 Quench.

Maximum versatility. A single unit that allows you to choose high-pressure air or water quenching as needed, depending upon the alloy and the profile. It’s designed to be the most efficient combination quench in the industry.

Elixir Industries

Douglas, GA, USA

Elixir Industries has selected Granco Clark to provide an SST Hot-Jet furnace, log shear, and a chest-type die oven for the company’s Douglas, Georgia, facility.

The Hot-Jet Furnace delivers an average thermal efficiency of 55 percent, which is a peak performance level for most other billet furnaces. The log shear will be integrated with the furnace to allow Elixir Industries to cut billets to the desired size as needed, eliminating the need to inventory multiple lengths. Elixir Industries is one of the largest independent suppliers to the factory-built housing and recreational vehicle industries, with seventeen operating divisions throughout the United States. Two of these are aluminum extrusion divisions supplying their customers with linear and fabricated components.

Alcoa Engineered Products

Cressona, PA, USA

Alcoa Engineered Products has again chosen Granco Clark to supply new extrusion technology. Granco Clark will provide a new 90-foot billet furnace as part of improvements to the company’s Cressona, Pennsylvania, facility. The furnace will include new charge and discharge equipment and will deliver 30,000 lbs. of 16-inch diameter billets per hour.

Alcoa Engineered Products is a leading supplier of soft and hard alloy extruded aluminum products to the distribution, commercial transportation, industrial, consumer, aerospace, automotive and building & construction markets. Its parent company, Alcoa, is the world’s leading producer of primary aluminum, fabricated aluminum, and alumina.

Kaiser Aluminum

Sherman, TX, USA

Kaiser Aluminum Extruded Products has selected Granco Clark to upgrade the handling system on their 2750-ton extrusion press in the Kaiser’s Sherman, Texas, facility. Constraints in building and material flow at the time of original installation limited the size of the current handling system. But Kaiser has re-engineered some of their processes to permit a 60-foot handling system extension. Long profiles are practical because of the Granco Clark Billet Taper Quench. The Billet Taper Quench compensates in advance for the heat buildup in longer billets during extrusion by incrementally subtracting heat from the billet before it enters the press.

Kaiser Aluminum is a leading producer of fabricated aluminum products for aerospace and high strength, general engineering, automotive, and custom industrial applications.
