| FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Kaiser Aluminum Selects Granco Clark To Upgrade its Current Handling SystemBelding, Michigan — Kaiser Aluminum Extruded Products has selected Belding, Michigan-based Granco Clark to upgrade the handling system on their 2750-ton extrusion press in the Kaiser’s Sherman, Texas facility. Granco Clark is a global aluminum extrusion equipment manufacturer and supplier. Constraints in building and material flow at the time of original installation limited the size of the current handling system. But Kaiser has re-engineered some of their processes to permit a 60-foot handling system extension. The extension will allow Kaiser Aluminum to make better use of the long container on its extrusion press. Long profiles are practical because of the Granco Clark Billet Taper Quench. The Billet Taper Quench compensates in advance for the heat buildup in longer billets during extrusion by incrementally subtracting heat from the billet before it enters the press. Kaiser Aluminum is a leading producer of fabricated aluminum products for aerospace and high strength, general engineering, automotive, and custom industrial applications. - # # # - Founded in 1947, Granco Clark began manufacturing billet furnaces and has evolved into a global, single-source supplier and leading equipment manufacturer to the aluminum extrusion industry. Quality is a key component in every extrusion system the ISO-9001 certified company fabricates — from billet log furnaces and log shears to age ovens and stacking equipment. - # # # -
