Indalum Chooses Granco Clark to Upgrade Two Press Lines

Belding, Michigan—Indalum has chosen Granco Clark to supply advanced extrusion equipment to upgrade two press lines at its plant in Santiago, Chile. A Chile-based supplier of aluminum profiles to the building industry, Indalum had previously purchased a full Granco Clark system for a new press line in 1999.

Granco Clark will supply a demand billet saw system with the capability of cutting up to 110 billets per hour of six-inch diameter log. The billets will feed two separate press lines via the handling system. The system is designed for the future use of a billet stacking system to feed excess capacity into billet storage.

Granco Clark will also upgrade one of Indalum’s press lines with a 500-pound puller and new idle roll leadout table. The proven, cut-on-the-fly Granco Clark Double Puller will provide a reduction in scrap and improved positioning of extrusions for downstream operations. The leadout is a stationary design with high-temperature fabric-covered rollers.
