Extrudex Chooses Granco Clark Heating and
Handling System
Belding, Michigan — Extrudex Aluminum, an extrusion
supplier to markets ranging from construction and transportation to
electrical and consumer products, has selected Granco Clark to supply
the heating and handling system for a new 2500-ton extrusion press
line at its facility in St. Nicolas, Québec.
The heating system consists of a Granco Clark Model 69-35-3 Hot-Jet
Furnace with integrated log shear, capable of providing more than
6000 pounds of seven-inch diameter billet per hour. A Model 69 Billet
Taper Quench delivers a precise, linear temperature gradient for isothermal
extrusion.
The handling system is capable of operating in both “double
length” and “cut-on-the-fly” operation with the
proven Granco Clark Double Puller. A high-pressure spray quench delivers
rapid cooling for press quench alloys, while undertable and overhead
air-cooling systems deliver balanced profile cooling from top and
bottom.
