SCSExtrude Enhanced

New version offers additional tracking features, more powerful database

Granco Clark is introducing a new version of SCSExtrude, its software program that coordinates the extrusion process. The latest version includes an upgrade to its technology platform and database, as well as new features.

The new version of SCSExtrude was developed in a Microsoft .NET environment. It utilizes an SQL server database, which is more robust than the Microsoft Access database used with the preceding version.

In the new SCSExtrude version, changes to equipment values are automatically tracked. When an operator on the plant floor changes the pre-set values used to set up equipment, SCSExtrude will record the change.

Jeff Ryan, Product Manager for SCSExtrude, says, “This makes it easier to identify potential causes if something in your system’s operation seems to be off. You can quickly review the history and see whether changes to equipment values may be having an impact.”

Beyond these changes, the upgraded SCSExtrude will continue to offer all the features that made the previous version so effective in coordinating the extrusion process.

Production schedules can be downloaded from an office system or input directly on the plant floor. SCSExtrude automatically executes the schedules, setting up equipment automatically as work orders move through the system from station to station.

Downtime is reduced with alarm diagnostics that monitor each piece of equipment in the extrusion line to detect and diagnose faults. SCSExtrude also greatly reduces or eliminates manual entry of information, automatically recording information as jobs are run and reporting real-time information.
