Granco Clark Completes Handling System Installation at Century Extrusion Ltd.

Production is now underway at Century Extrusions Ltd.’s newest 3000T ton press at their Kharagpur, West Bangal, India facility. Granco Clark engineered and installed the semi-automated handling system for the new press line, featuring a 1000 lb double puller capable of “on the fly” cutting. The line also includes a Granco Clark precision High Pressure water quench capable of handling profiles up to 20kg/meter. Semi-automated high temperature belts, stretcher and a full sawing system are also incorporated into this system.

Founded in 1947, Granco Clark began manufacturing billet furnaces and has evolved into a global, single-source supplier and leading equipment manufacturer to the aluminum extrusion industry.  Quality is a key component in every extrusion system the company fabricates—from billet log furnaces and log shears to age ovens and stacking equipment.  In 1986, the company introduced the Granco Clark Supervisory Computer System (SCS) to enhance efficiency by developing schedules, loading equipment parameters, tracking faults, and logging production and downtime data.  This integrated control system has since developed into SCSExtrude—the next generation nerve center for automated extrusion lines.  SCSExtrude helps Granco Clark customers improve extrusion line management and reduces equipment downtime.
