High-Pressure Spray QuenchMaximum heat transfer available in a profile quenchGranco Clark’s high-pressure spray quench provides more than twice the cooling rate of a flood quench and three times the cooling rate of low-pressure spray. Unlike these other quenches, the high-pressure spray quench penetrates the steam barrier surrounding the profile and puts water droplets directly on the aluminum, dramatically increasing cooling speeds. The high-pressure spray quench also cools more evenly than flood quenches, for a gain in profile quality. Spray nozzles are arranged in adjustable rings, divided into sections, to allow precise cooling control appropriate to each profile. An in-line filtration system minimizes spray nozzle contamination.
